Business Issue

The client, a leading multinational life insurance and financial services company, wanted to expand its traditional role of providing financial protection against ill-health by becoming a partner in people’s wellness, helping them to prevent and postpone onset of diseases. To achieve this, the client needed a mobile application that would make healthcare more accessible for common people. This was designed as a part of the cultural shift accelerated by Covid.

The application was to be high on customer centricity, to engage customers and provide proactive alerts and notifications on diseases, and be an omnichannel digital platform which could track customer journey and help as a Point of Sale (POS) for buying health Insurance.

Solution

Bounteous x Accolite built a ticketing system from scratch that can create, assign, close issues with an effective reporting system, built using AngularJS, Spring, Java & Oracle.

The app’s predictive capabilities helped in early detection of diseases as well as managing diabetes, heart conditions etc. The app also served as a POS for existing and new customers wherein customers can buy insurance products and input service requests based on requirements. All this was integrated with the Digital Policy Administration System, making the whole experience digitally seamless.

Outcomes

The app rapidly gained popularity and became one of Asia’s most popular health care-based application.

The app was rolled out across 11 Southeast Asian countries in 10 different regional languages with a target audience of 20 million users. Current supported countries include Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, and Taiwan.

Easy to use features and availability of health insights round the clock enabled customers be in charge of their health.
