My Denver Experience

Earlier this year, I started working at Bounteous in the San Francisco office. Thanks to Bounteous’s new Office Exchange Program, I got the chance to travel to Denver and work from our local office there. The trip was awesome as I got to know my coworkers better and explore Denver.

After arriving, I headed to the office to meet my Denver based coworkers in person for the first time. As expected, I was welcomed with open arms and got the chance to attend some fun after work activities. On my first night there, some of my coworkers and I went to a bar called Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery to enjoy the evening and participate in Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night!

I was very appreciative of my coworker Julie who showed me the city and let me stay with her while I visited Denver. Since I’ve never been to a baseball game before, Julie and I went to a Rockies game on Friday after work. A good view, perfect weather, apple cider beer and pretzels made the evening a unique experience, even though the home team didn’t win.

Seeing the Sights

The next day I had the opportunity to take a closer look at Denver. I really liked the style of the buildings and the construction of the city! Julie created a map of places I should see. To my surprise, everything was very close together, and that made it possible to see lots of different things in one day. I thought one of the funniest sights was the huge blue bear sculpture looking into Colorado Convention Center. The Denver Performing Arts Complex is located right next to the Convention Center, and I really liked the modern style of the buildings there.

After I saw all the sights, I had some time left to see the 16th Street Mall. I think it is really great that there’s a free bus that travels the entire length of 16th Street every few minutes. This makes it really easy to get around downtown!

On Sunday morning, the last day of my visit, Julie and I went to Nederland, CO to go on a hike in the mountains. There were some great views! The four-day trip ended before I knew it. I think that Denver is a great city and my coworkers are all very nice. I am so glad I got to participate in the Office Exchange program and would recommend it to anyone. I think it’s a great idea that any company can implement in order to help with team building and as a fun perk.  I’m definitely coming back to Denver again in the future!
